Coopers Plains & Robertson Neighbourhood Day

From: 27/03/2022 11:00 am To: 27/03/2022 1:00 pm
Come and meet your neighbours, new or old, in the park. Everyone is welcome to this informal lunch celebrating local multicultural living. There'll be a portable BBQ, so bring what you want; your speciality dish or something ordinary, kids, drinks, games. There are playgrounds in the park. See you there! WEATHER UPDATE: There is cover there. If it's similar to yesterday, we should okay, fingers crossed. Monday is looking more rainy. It's going ahead but bring an umbrella and wear appropriate shoes.

Neighbour Day is an opportunity to say thanks for being a great neighbour. The aim of Neighbour Day is to build better relationships with the people who live around us, especially the elderly and vulnerable. Good relationships with others can and do change communities. Social
connection also makes us feel better as it helps prevent loneliness, isolation and depression. Responsibility for Australia’s annual celebration
of community, Neighbour Day, was assumed by Relationships Australia in January 2014, but it’s actually a grassroots community-run event. I live on Nyleta Street and have been holding Neighbourhood Day events for 5 years. Nobody asked me, I just do it! I really like to know my neighbourhood. Simon.
